At a first glance, Taiping may not appear to offer much, but if you look further, you will find it one of Malaysia’s most well-preserved colonial towns. Known as many firsts for Malaysia, including the first museum, first resort hill, first railway, first prison, first newspapers and first zoo. Driving a better option to get to Taiping. The nearest International Airport is in Penang, which is about 1.5 hours by car. One could choose to rent a taxi or take a express bus from Penang to reach Taiping.
